Ventilation is one of the main measures taken by the crew to preserve their cargo, and the idea that it is better than nothing is not always true. Ventilation of cargo hold is not simple. In different situations, it is necessary, unnecessary, forbidden, impossible, and even slow (breathable) and accelerated.
To correctly understand and truly master the timing of ventilation, it is necessary to spend some time to understand the objective natural phenomenon that the invisible vapor in the air condenses into visible drops of water (known as dew in folk, crew members weigh sweat). At a certain temperature, the amount of water vapor in a cubic meter of air (i.e. the absolute humidity, later slightly) rises to a certain saturation point, at which point it condenses into droplets.
